Adios!

Happy New Year!! Whew...I am so glad it is a new year. Today in a meeting we were discussing our resolutions and someone mentioned that they had read about a woman who was resolved to NOT let the media tell her how to feel anymore. Genius. We are all in control of our own lives, thoughts, and actions. I have heard so many wonderful stories of people doing just that and planning to continue into 2009 . And why shouldn't we? We can't just curl up into a ball and not do anything. What are you doing to keep your spirits high and business growing? Let me know.

In my last post I mentioned our new blog- Trendspot, where you can get inspiration and up to the nanosecond information on trends from all around the world- and specifically on windows. There is no where else you can get this specific information and inspiration- just for you! Tell us what you think. www.the-trendspot.blogspot.com.

Also now through January 25th check out the Cooper-Hewitt Exhibition at the National Design Musuem "House Proud: Nineteenth-Cenury Watercolor Interiors from the Thaw Collection," www.cooperhewit.org. Amazing views into drawing rooms, libraries, and winter gardens.

Adios 2008........HELLO 2009!

Happy Holidays!

I can't believe the holiday season is here, like right now! Where did the year go? Though many of us will be glad to see 2008 in our past- I only hope that 2009 shapes up to be a better year. We must keep in mind all the small things count, and all the small things add up to big changes.

Grace has started a WFCP group on Facebook. This is a great way to stay connected and help eachother out during these trying times. If you haven't joined- go for it. If you aren't on facebook- check it out.

We also have our new blog, www.the-trendspot.blogspot.com. Check it out for useful information and global inspiration.

Well, that is it for me today. Have a great holiday and we'll talk soon!

Good Afternoon! Sorry for the delay in my posts as I was away on vacation in Miami and Key West- ahhh what a needed break. On vacation I thought a lot about work (I know, I know). I had a chance to reflect on all we have done here at Vision these past few months with the ReVolution, our website, and of course the rebranded Vision magazine. We have had such an amazing response to the new look, layout and content. Thank you to the hundreds of people who wrote in and shared your feedback. We appreciate your kind words and encouragment.

So, let's get down to business. As I said in my first post- this is a place where you can come to see what we are doing to keep the ReVolution going and how we are helping bring fashion at the window to the forefront of design.

Thanks to our amazing partners at TODL.com our 2nd e-blast went out promoting Window Fashion Vision to their entire membership of over 44,000 people. Yes, you read that right 44,000 people! Thanks TODL.com for helping us educate designers around the nation about window fashion.

Last but not least, blog bloomacious.com is looking for great interiors, room renovations, and furniture makeovers to feature on their blog. They are looking for a range of styles that inspire their readers. Take a look at their site to get a feel for their style. So go ahead and submit your projects. You can contact their editor Carrie Leber at info@bloomacious.com.

Well, that's it for today. Off to the Holiday party at Grace's- good thing tomorrow is Saturday!

Take care and have a great weekend~ Shannon L.

Let's keep moving!!

Hello and welcome! I am so excited to have this opportunity to speak with you on a regular basis on this little thing we started a few months ago- the ReVolution. This has been such an exciting time for us here at GMI as we prepared to unveil our largest commitment to the window fashion industry and to the ReVolution- Window Fashion VISION. We know not everyone has a magazine they can re brand, but we all must take ownership and responsibility to lead the charge in whatever way we can.

This blog is dedicated to supporting and celebrating the efforts we all make to the ReVolution throughout the year. You can check back here weekly for ideas, tips, opportunities, and updates on what we are doing as the leading industry publication to change our industry.

We also want to know what you are doing- big or small! Did you speak at a design school about the importance of window fashions? Did you contact a consumer shelter pub requesting more window fashions images? Did you hold a local consumer event educating homeowners on window fashions? Let us know.

Have you proposed an idea but it hasn't happened yet or didn't pan out? That is OK- still let us know. Every effort counts.

Many of you are just now receiving the premier issue of Window Fashion VISION. Again, this is just the first step in our commitment to changing and elevating the window fashion industry. But it doesn't stop here. We want to continue throughout the year to support and inspire you and your commitment to change this industry as well. If we all work together we will see change.

Check back often and feel free to email me or comment on a post. We love your feedback and over the past few months you all have truly inspired us here to have a new VISION.
Thank you.
